Deployment Steps #

The deployment of the VMware Cloud Director Availability appliances in the vCenter Server is done by following these steps:

  1. In the vCenter UI click on Deploy OVF Template…

  2. Select the VMware Cloud Director Availability OVF template.

  3. Name the virtual machine.

  4. Select a destination compute resource.

  5. Review the virtual machine details.

  6. Read and accept the license agreement.

  7. Select the appliance that you are going to deploy.

Choose the VMware Cloud Director Availability deployment configuration

  1. Pick the storage for the disk files.

  2. Specify the network that the appliance will be connected to.

  3. Enter the deployment properties such as root password, NTP server, IP address, gateway, DNS, etc.

  4. Validate that all the details are correctly entered on the summary screen, and deploy the virtual machine.

Note: You need to repeat these steps to deploy each of the appliances - Cloud Replication Management, Cloud Replicator(s) and Cloud Tunnel. The Combined appliances is not supported for Production.

After the deployment of the appliances, you need to run the initial setup wizard. It is designed to guide you through the essential steps to configure all the appliances at the same time. Read more
